Fluid Domain dialog box – Fluid Mesh options
| Destination Folder | |
|---|---|
| Simulation Object Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |
| Fluid Domain Region | |
| Group Reference | Lets you apply the fluid domain region to a group. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the polygon body or bodies to define the region in which you want to generate the fluid mesh.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selection. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Inner Region to Mesh Through | |
| Select Object | Lets you select the polygon body or bodies within the selected fluid domain region that should be ignored by the meshing algorithm.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selection. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Material | |
| Type | Controls the type of fluid of fluid to be used.Pure Substance models any fluid other than a gas mixture.Mixture models gas mixtures composed of ideal gases. |
| Mixture | Lets you select a Mixture modeling object or click Open Manager to create a new one. |
| Fluid Material | Appears when you set Type to Pure Substance.Lets you select a defined fluid material for the fluid domain or define a new material.Air defines the generated fluid mesh as having standard material properties for air.Water defines the generated fluid mesh as having standard material properties for water.Specify defines the generated fluid mesh as having material properties you specify. |
| Select Fluid | Appears only when you set Fluid Material to Specify.Specifies the material to assign to the elements in the fluid mesh. Select a previously created material from the list, or click Choose material to create a new material. |
| Mesh Density | |
| Element Size Type | Controls the method you use to specify the size of the elements in the fluid mesh. Relative defines the element size as a fraction of the longest edge of the bounding box of the selected geometry. Absolute lets you specify the element length. |
| Element Size | Lets you specify the size of the elements. |
