Damage Accumulation dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Accumulation Type | Specifies the damage accumulation method to use for the fatigue analysis.**Miner's Rule (original)**Uses the SN-curve with an endurance limit. Cycles with amplitudes lower than the endurance limit have no damage.**Miner's Rule (elementary)**Extends the SN-curve to approach zero stress amplitude using the same slope that the SN-curve has just above the endurance limit, if there is at least one cycle with an amplitude above the endurance limit.Haibach/MinerExtends the SN-curve below the endurance limit with a slope of 2k-1, where k is the slope of the SN-curve just above the endurance limit. The curve is extended to approach zero stress amplitude if there is at least one cycle with an amplitude above the endurance limit. When you select this option, you can modify the Haibach-Miner rule by changing the constant.Liu ZennerAdjusts the SN-curve to a crack propagation SN-curve.In the original SN-curve, the point that corresponds to the maximum load amplitude in the actual load is searched. The slope at this point is averaged with the slope of a typical crack propagation SN-curve. (In Specialist Durability, this slope is assumed to be 3.6.) The new endurance limit is set to half of its original value.Miner Hueck PoetingUses a variable slope of a reference SN-curve for the damage accumulation.A parameter C and the relation between the maximum stress value of the load spectrum distribution and the fatigue limit determine the slope of the reference SN-curve.For more information, see Variable amplitude loading. |
| Haibach Miner Slope Coefficient 2k- | Appears when Accumulation Type is set to Haibach/Miner.Sets the constant for the Haibach-Miner slope. You can type any positive value. |
| Miner Hück Pöting Coefficient | Appears when Accumulation Type is set to Miner Hueck Poeting.Sets the coefficient (parameter C) for the Miner Hueck Poeting method. |
