Manually sweeping a mesh through a void in a body

With the Manual Between type of swept mesh, you can sweep a mesh between source and target faces in the same body to fill a void space with a structured mesh. The interior nodes of a swept mesh in a void are not associated with the geometry, and the software does not update the mesh if the surrounding geometry changes.

Wall faces

The software does not infer the existence of wall faces when you use the Manual Between option to sweep a mesh through a void in a single body unless you specifically select them. Consequently, the mesh may not exactly fill a space that is surrounded by faces unless you manually select the wall faces.

If you manually select the wall faces:

  • The wall faces between the source and target faces must have at least four edges.

  • The wall faces must be connected to at least one source and one target face.

Mesh should not interfere with the solid body

When you sweep a mesh through a single body, you should inspect the resulting mesh to ensure that the mesh does not intersect with the body.
