Planarity Condition dialog box (Simcenter Samcef)
| Name | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name of the initial damage condition that appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Simulation Objects Container node. |
| Description | Sets the description. |
| Destination Folder | |
| Simulation Objects Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the initial damage condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. |
| Master Node | |
| Select Object | Lets you select the master node. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Slave Nodes | |
| Group Reference | Lets you select a group to define the nodes to lie in the plane. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the slave nodes. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Excluded | Lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object. |
| Normal Definition | |
| Specify Normal to Plane (DIR) | Specifies how to compute the plane's normal:AutomaticLets Samcef compute the normal.Specify NormalLets you specify the normal.Note: Most of the time, the slave nodes spatial distribution is very close to a plane. But if this is not the case, you should specify the normal to help Samcef to compute the plane. For more information, see the DIR parameter of the Samcef .MPL command. |
| Specify Vector | Appears when Specify Normal to Plane (DIR) is set to Specify Normal.Lets you specify the normal's direction.See Defining model orientation for solar heating and Vector dialog box for more information. |
| Options | |
| Slave Nodes Rotation (OPT) | Specifies the in-plane nodes rotation option:Normal free, in-plane fixedSlave nodes normal rotation is free, but in-plane is fixed.FreeSlave nodes rotation is free.Note: If a planarity condition is imposed on shell elements nodes, Normal free, in-plane fixed sets a suitable symmetry condition for the nodes degrees of freedom. But if the planarity condition involves volume elements nodes, select Free to avoid zero pivots during the solve. For more information, see the OPT parameter of the Samcef .MPL command. |
