Planar Head Loss
Use a Planar Head Loss type modeling object to define a resistance to flow through planar devices such as screens or filters. Specify the resistance as a coefficient defining a pressure drop through the device or using one of the following correlations:
Thin perforated plate with sharp edge orifices
Thin perforated plate with rounded edge orifices
Thin perforated plate with beveled edge orifices
Metal wire screen
Silk thread screen
After you have created a Planar Head Loss modeling object, you can optionally select it when defining any Screen or Flow Boundary Condition (Opening type or Recirculation Loop type only). The software then applies the specified resistance to the Screen or Flow Boundary Condition. For more information, see Screen and Flow Boundary Condition.
