Laminate Dynamics

Laminate Dynamics Details View subpanel (Simulation Navigator)

When you select the Normal Modes [#] node in the Simulation Navigator, the Laminate Dynamics Details View subpanel displays the frequency, the viscous damping factor, and the damped frequency for each normal mode. The number in the square brackets indicates the number of active normal modes.

Mode Frequency(Hz) %Viscous Damped Frequency(Hz)

Column name Description
Mode Indicates the mode identifier.Clear the check box to exclude a mode from base-driven random or sine events.
Frequency(Hz) Indicates the undamped natural frequency of the selected mode.
%Viscous Indicates the value for the viscous damping factor of the selected mode.
Damped Frequency(Hz) Indicates the damped frequency of the selected mode.where:ωd is the damped modal frequency.ωn is the undamped modal frequency.ζ is the viscous damping factor. where:ωd is the damped modal frequency.ωn is the undamped modal frequency.ζ is the viscous damping factor.
