Assign contact properties to surfaces (Abaqus)

1. Do one of the following depending on whether you are assigning the contact surfaces at the solution or step level.In the Solution dialog box, click the Solution Control tab, and click Contact Property Assignment .In the Solution Step dialog box, click the Other Step Parameter tab, and click Contact Property Assignment .

2. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, type a name for the Contact Property Assignment modeling object, and click Create.

3. Define the Contact Property Assignment modeling object to be included in the step. Select the surfaces or surface regions to be assigned the contact properties, or click Create Region to create new surface regions.To govern contact interactions, select or create a Surface Interaction modeling object.For more information, see Surface Interaction dialog box (Abaqus).Click OK.

4. In the Modeling Objects Manager dialog box, in the Selection list, select the Contact Property modeling object and, in the List group, click Add New to add it to the list of objects to be included.

5. Click Close.

6. Click OK.
