Base Motion dialog box (Abaqus)

Properties
Description Lets you specify an optional description for the modeling object.

Base Motion Translational DOFs

Degree of Freedom 1Degree of Freedom 2Degree of Freedom 3
Time History Type Specifies the type of base motion to apply to the translational degree of freedom.NoneApplies no motion to the degree of freedom.AccelerationApplies an acceleration to the degree of freedom.VelocityApplies a velocity to the degree of freedom.DisplacementApplies a displacement to the degree of freedom.
Time vs. AccelerationTime vs. VelocityTime vs. Displacement****Specify Field Available options depend on the selected Time History Type.Lets you specify a field that defines the amplitude curve to define the base motion. For example, for a Velocity type, you would create a table-based field that defines the velocity of the degree of freedom at specific points in time.
