Create loads with node ID or corner node ID tables (Simcenter Samcef)

For some types of loads and constraints, you can define the loads or constraints with a node ID table or corner node ID table that contains a list of node IDs and corresponding scale factors. For each node in the node ID table, the load magnitude is multiplied by the scale factors.

You can use a node ID table for the following:

  • Force load

  • Moment load

  • Acceleration load

  • Initial Temperature load

  • Temperature Load constraint

You can use a corner node ID table for a Nodal Pressure load.

  1. Choose Home tab → Loads and Conditions group, and select the appropriate load or constraint.

  2. In the load or constraint dialog box, from the Type list, select Node ID Table or Corner Node ID Table-Normal Pressure.

  3. In the Magnitude group, define the force magnitude by entering a constant value or by using an expression or field. For more information, see Using fields and expressions to define boundary conditions.

  4. (Optional) In the Direction group, choose the coordinate system to use to define the load.

  5. In the Scaling ID Table group, from the Specify Field list, select Table Constructor .

  6. Do one of the following. To import data from a .csv file, click Import from File , select the .csv file, and click OK. To correctly populate the table, the .csv file must have the same columns as the table. To manually define the table data row by row, type the values in the box and click Accept Edit .Note: If you select the Corner Node ID Table-Normal Pressure type:The Face ID is the face order number in the definition of the topology of the element: 0 for 2D elements and in the [0, n] range for 3D elements, where n is the number of faces of the element - 1The Face ID varies according to the type of the topology of the element. The Corner ID is the corner node order in the definition of the topology of the element.

  7. In the Table Field dialog box, click OK.

  8. In the load or constraint dialog box, click OK.
