Identify nodes or elements within a range of results values

Note:

  • For Multiphysics cyclic symmetric results, you can identify results in any displayed sector, and the identified results include the sector ID.For more information about displaying sectors, see Set up a cyclic symmetric display.

  • For Multiphysics Fourier axisymmetric results, you can identify results for any of the displayed 3D model, and the identified results include the theta value. For more information about displaying the 3D model, see Set up an axisymmetric 3D display.

  • Use the MenuPreferencesPost ProcessingIdentify command to set the numeric format of the results values.

  1. Choose Results tab→Tools group→Identify Results .

  2. From the results list, choose By Result Range.

  3. Specify how you want results and IDs to be displayed in the graphics window by selecting from the Mark Selection list:To display results values for each selected node or element, select Mark Result. To display the IDs of selected nodes or elements, select Mark IDs.Select No Marks if you do not want to mark nodes or elements in the graphics window.

  4. To specify an upper limit, select Below and enter a value.

  5. To specify a lower limit, select Above and enter a value.

  6. Click Apply to select all nodes or elements whose values fall within the specified range. For all selected nodes or elements, the Selection box lists the maximum, minimum, numerical sum, and averaged values. Selected nodes or elements are marked in the graphics window as specified in step 3.

  7. Continue to select entities to using any of the available methods. Entities are added or removed from your list based on the selection in the Boolean Operation list.Tip: To remove marks in the graphics window without clearing your selection, click Clear Highlights at any time.To remove all selected entities from the list, click Clear Selection .

  8. Click Close.Caution: Closing the Identify dialog box clears all selections and marks in the graphics window. To retain your data, export the selection to a file or spreadsheet before you close the dialog box.
