Biaxial fatigue evaluation for beam elements
The durability solver lets you evaluate life and damage for a beam element using the biaxial approach NOTE. The solver determines the maximum principal stress, σmax, and minimum principal stress, σmin, of the beam using the following equations:
where σaxi is the axial normal stress of the beam and τtor is the torsional shear stress of the beam.
The stress biaxial ratio of the beam, rbeam, is calculated as follows:
