Displaying graphs in the Solution Monitor using the Report simulation object

Depending on the solution type, you can use the Report simulation object to display graphs of displacements, velocity, or acceleration in the Solution Monitor during a solve. If you select multiple nodes to track, the graphs display the minimum, maximum, and average nodal values.

  • For SOL 401 Multi-Step Nonlinear, SOL 402 Multi-Step Nonlinear Kinematics, and Multi-Step Nonlinear, you can create Report simulation objects to display graphs of displacement.

  • For SOL 414,111 Harmonic Response Analysis and SOL 414,129 Transient Response Analysis, you can create Report simulation objects to display graphs of displacement, velocity, and acceleration.

You can access the graphs in the Solution Monitor from the Graphs list.

After the solve, the software saves a graph of displacements in the run directory in PNG format. You can save the values displayed in the graph to a CSV file by clicking Export in the graph window.

The Solution Monitor displays several other types of graphs that do not require a Report simulation object. For more information, see Simcenter Nastran graphs.

Corresponding Nastran Syntax

The Report simulation object corresponds to the Simcenter Nastran MONVAR case control command.
