Probing Options dialog box

Use this dialog box to change the display of the XY coordinate pairs as you mark them on a plot curve in Probing Mode.

Positioning tab

Input Value
Snap to Data Specifies whether the marker should snap to the nearest data point on the curve.
X The the approximate X value at which the Y value will be labeled. The current position of the help line appears in the box.Note: When you select or enter a value, the software marks the closest actual data point to the value you entered.

Text tab

Number
Number Format Specifies the notational system used for the marker labels.AutomaticThe software chooses a numeric format based on the absolute difference between consecutive color bar levels. FixedDisplays results in decimal notation with a fixed number of decimal places that you specify.ScientificDisplays results in scientific notation using a fixed number of decimal places that you specify.
Decimal Places Appears when Format is set to Fixed or Scientific.Sets the number of decimal places to include in the marker text box.
Text Options
Font Definition Specifies the source of the font to use for this plot.Local SettingLets you specify the font, font size, and font style for this plot text object.Global SettingUses the global session font, font size, and font style for this plot text object. You can change the global session font on the Color/Font tab in the Visualization Preferences dialog box.
Automatic Font Size Appears when Font Definition is set to Global Setting.When you resize the window, dynamically scales the font size for this text object from the size that is specified in the Visualization Preferences dialog box.
Font Scale Appears when Font Definition is set to Global Setting.Lets you scale the font size for this text object from the size that is specified in the Visualization Preferences dialog box.
Font Appears when Font Definition is set to Local Setting.The font for the displayed text.
Width for NX fonts / Font Style for Microsoft fonts Appears when Font Definition is set to Local Setting.Specifies the font thickness or font style, such as regular, bold, and italic. Some fonts do not support bold and italic.
Size Appears only when Font Definition is set to Local Setting.The font size for the displayed text.
Color The font color for the displayed text.
Justification Specifies how the text is justified (left, right, or centered).
Text Box
Fill Fills the text box with the specified background color.
Show Textbox Frames the text box with the specified line style.
Line Style
Appears when the Show Textbox check box is selected.
Color Specifies the color of the border lines.
Style Specifies the line style of the border lines.
Width Specifies the thickness of the border lines.
Internal Margin
Appears when the Fill or Show Textbox check box is selected.
Top Sets the distance from the top edge of the text box to the text.
Bottom Sets the distance from the bottom edge of the text box to the text.
Left Sets the distance from the left edge of the text box to the text.
Right Sets the distance from the right edge of the text box to the text.
Leader
Color Specifies the color of the leader line.
Style Specifies the line style of the leader lines.
Width Specifies the thickness of the leader lines.
Anchor Color Specifies the color of the point marker.
Point Marker Specifies the type of marker to use to display the attachment point on the curve.

Line tab

Help Line
Color Specifies the color of the help line.
Style Specifies the style of the help line (such as solid, dashed, etc.).
Width Specifies the thickness of the help line.
