Fields
Test a field
This procedure shows how you can use the field function to evaluate a field for a specific value of the independent domain.
If the independent domain of the field contains more than one variable, note the variables in the order in which they are listed in the Domain group of the corresponding Formula Field, Table Field, or Table of Fields dialog box. You will need this information in this procedure.
On the Resource bar, click the Knowledge Fusion Navigator tab.Note: If the Knowledge Fusion Navigator tab is not displayed, choose Application tab→More list→Knowledge Fusion .
In the Knowledge Fusion Navigator, right-click root and choose Evaluate Temporary Rule.
In the Rule Formula box, type the field function specification. The exact format for the argument of the field function depends on the number of variables in the independent domain of the field. The general format for the field function specification is:fd(“field name”,value(1),value(2),...,value(n),.....)where value(n) is the numerical value for the nth variable. In the argument of the field function, list the values for the independent variables in the same order they are listed in the domain group of the dialog box for the field.
Click Evaluate. The value of the field for the specified independent domain is displayed in the Result box. The value is expressed in base units.
To evaluate the field at other values of the independent domain, repeat steps 3 and 4.
Click Close.
