Model update solution process

Use the Model Update command to create the Model Update solution process. The Model Update process helps you update the finite element model to match frequencies and mode shapes of a reference solution, typically an imported test solution.

To create a Model Update solution process, you reference work solution results and reference solution results.

  • Work solution results are SOL 200 Model Update analysis results. These results represent the analysis model you would like to modify.

  • Reference solution results are modal test data results or another set of analysis results. These results represent the target results you would like to match.

When you create a model update solution process, you can select a subcase for the work and reference solutions and a measurement type in the Subcase Selection group.

Note:

To open a model update solution process that was saved in a release prior to Simcenter 3D 2021.1, containing a subcase without modes, you must edit the solution process and select a valid subcase.
