Samcef environment
Verify results and models are in sync
You can verify that results are in sync with the current state of the model so you do not analyze incorrect or out-of-date results. You first capture the current state of the model and results and then later, you verify that the model and results are still in sync based on the registration information.
Registering and verifying results is available for the following solver environments:
Simcenter Nastran
Simcenter Samcef
Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow
Simcenter 3D Electronic Systems Cooling
Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal
Simcenter 3D Multiphysics
You cannot register imported results. For Simcenter Samcef, you must register all the chained solutions that depend on the other solutions.
Set customer default to allow the registration and verification of results
Choose Menu→File→Utilities→Customer Defaults.
In the Customer Defaults dialog box, select Simulation→Pre/Post→General.
Click the Solution tab.
Select the Support Registration and Verification of Solution check box.
Click OK and restart the software.
Register the current state of model and results
When you register the results, the software records the time stamp of the results file and performs a checksum based on the current solver input file.
- In the Simulation Navigator, under the Results node, right-click a result and choose Register Result File.In Sync now appears in the Status column of the Simulation Navigator next to the registered results.
Verify that results are in sync with model
The Verification command is only available if you previously registered the results.
When changes are made to any loads, constraints, simulation objects, or to the FEM or Assembly FEM file associated with the results, the status of the results changes to In Question.
When you verify the results, the software compares the current results time stamp with the record time stamp and compares the current solver input file checksum with the recorded checksum. If both are the same, the verification is successful, and the software resets the status to In Sync. If not, it sets the status to Out of Sync.
- In the Simulation Navigator, under the Results node, right-click a result and choose Verify Result File.Messages appear about whether the results and the current state of the model are in sync.
