Right-click commands for model update nodes

For the model update and model update set solution processes different commands are available in the Simulation Navigator depending on which node you right-click.

For the model update and model update set solution processes nodes that are not listed here, see Right-click commands for the correlation solution process.

Model Update and Model Update Set nodes commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Model Update or Model Update Set node in the Simulation Navigator.

Icon Command name Description
Edit Opens the Model Update dialog box to let you modify the correlation options. See Model Update dialog box for more information.
Edit Opens the Model Update Set dialog box that lets you modify the mode pairing method, shape correlation method and change the master model update solution.Note that selecting a new master model update solution does not update the design variable values in Model Update Set.
Clone Copies the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.
Delete Deletes the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.
Optimize Opens the Optimize dialog box to let you modify optimization options. See Optimize dialog box for more information.
Refresh Results For a Model Update solution process, it refreshes the modes, targets, design variables, and errors of the active Model Update solution process, with the current work solution results and solution process settings. For a Model Update Set solution process, it refreshes all linked Model Update solution processes and recomputes the Model Update Set solution process target errors.
Solver Settings Opens the Solver Settings dialog box. See Solver Settings dialog box for more information.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the Model Update solution process, the work and reference solutions, the node map and mode pairs, and optimization design variables and target errors.Opens the Information window that lists general information about the Model Update Set solution process, its constituent Model Update solution processes, optimization design variables, and target errors.
Update Design Variables Updates the initial values and bounds of the design variable modeling objects in the Simulation file with the current design variables and bounds of the active Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.
Update FEM Updates the material and element properties referenced by the design variable modeling objects in the FEM or Simulation file with the current optimized design variable values of the active Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.
Make Active Appears only if the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process is inactive.Activates the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.
Make Inactive Appears only if the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process is active.Deactivates the Model Update or Model Update Set solution process.

Mode Pairing node commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Mode Pairing node, under the Model Update node, in the Simulation Navigator.

Icon Command name Description
Edit Opens the Mode Pairing Control dialog box to let you modify the mode pairing method and to preview the mode pairs between the reference and work modes in the Pairing Viewer. See Mode Pairing Control dialog box for more information.
Information Opens the Information window that lists mode pairing information.

Design Variables node commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Design Variables [#] node in the Simulation Navigator, under the Model Update or Model Update Set node.

Icon Command name Description
Reset In a Model Update solution process, resets the current design variable values to the initial values of the active work solution.Resets the current Model Update Set solution process design variable values to the current values of its constituent Model Update solution processes. For design variables that are shared between more than one Model Update solution process, the values of the master model update solution are queried.
Set Value to 1.0 Sets the initial value for all design variables back to 1.0.
Export to Excel Spreadsheet Exports design variables to an Excel spreadsheet. The information exported to the Excel spreadsheet for each design variable includes: the status, ID, name, label, value, lower bound, upper bound, weight, the name of the physical property or material card, the type of the physical property or material card, and the field of the physical property or material card.
Export to CSV File Exports design variables to a CSV file.
Update Design Variables from Spreadsheet Imports changes you made to the design variables in the Excel spreadsheet. You can modify the following fields in the spreadsheet:Status. The acceptable values are: Fixed or Free.Value, Lower Bound, and Upper Bound. The acceptable values must be real numbers where: lower bound ≤ value ≤ upper bound.Weight. Weight must be a real number > 0.0.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the optimization design variables.

Sensitivity node commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Sensitivity node in the Simulation Navigator, under the Model Update node.

Icon Command name Description
Plot Sensitivities Displays the design variable sensitivities matrix with respect to all optimization targets.
Export to Excel Spreadsheet Exports sensitivity values to an Excel spreadsheet.
Export to CSV File Exports sensitivity values to a CSV file.
Information Opens the Information window that lists the sensitivity values.

Targets node commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Targets [#] node, under the Model Update or Model Update Set node, in the Simulation Navigator.

Icon Command name Description
Reset Reactivates any deactivated target and clears all target errors.
Overall Weights Available only for a Modal Update solution process.Opens the Overall Weights dialog box to let you assign separate target weights to frequency targets and to mode shape targets. See Overall Weights dialog box for more information. The Model Update Set solution process inherits the global weight of each constituent Model Update solution process.
Export to Excel Spreadsheet Exports optimization targets to an Excel spreadsheet.
Export to CSV File Exports optimization targets to a CSV file.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the optimization targets.

Errors node commands

The following commands appear when you right-click the Errors [#] node in the Simulation Navigator, under the Model Update or Model Update Set node.

Icon Command name Description
Calculate Calculates the optimization target errors. The software considers the original and current design variable values for all active optimization targets using the reduced system matrices.
Export to Excel Spreadsheet Exports mode shape and frequency target errors to an Excel spreadsheet. In a Model Update Set solution process, all the active targets of all Model Update solution processes are exported.
Export to CSV File Exports mode shape and frequency target errors to a CSV file.In a Model Update Set solution process, all the active targets of all Model Update solution processes are exported.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the optimization mode shape and frequency targets.
