Heat Generation dialog box (Abaqus)
In the Abaqus environment, the options in the Heat Generation dialog box correspond to the Abaqus *DFLUX keyword. It applies the load as a distributed body flux (flux per unit of volume).

| Destination Folder | |

| Load Container | Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container. |
| Folder Manager | Displays a hierarchical list of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder. |

| Group Reference | Lets you apply the load to a group.For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Object | Lets you select the geometry or FE entities to apply the load to. Use the Excluded options to remove individual entities from your selection. |
| Stacked Smart Selector Methods | Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters.For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box. |
| Magnitude | |
| Heat Generation Rate | Specifies the magnitude of the heat generation load.For more information, see Additional magnitude options. |
| Specify Field | Appears when Heat Generation Rate is set to Field.Lets you select or create a field. |
| Scale Factor | Defines a scale factor for the load magnitude. |
| Card Name | Displays the name of the corresponding keyword. |
