| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Defines the name of the modeling object. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object. |
| Augmentation Threshold | AUGDIST field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies a penetration distance beyond which MSC Nastran applies an augmentation (segment-to-segment contact algorithm only). |
| Contact Tolerance Bias | BIAS field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the bias factor for the contact tolerance. |
| Interference Closure Amount | CINTERF field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the interference closure amount, normal to the contact surface.Specify a value > 0.0 to define an overlap between bodies.Specify a value < 0.0 to define a gap between bodies. |
| Slave Surface Contact****Master Surface Contact | COPTS field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.COPTM field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Indicates how slave (touched) and master (touching) surfaces may contact. See Remark 2 for the BCONPRG bulk data entry in the MSC Nastran Quick Reference Guide for more information. |
| Contact Threshold | ERROR field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the distance below which MSC Nastran considers a node to be touching a body. See the BCPARA bulk data entry in the MSC Nastran Quick Reference Guide for more information. |
| Hard-Soft Ratio | HARDS field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the hard-soft ratio. This option only applies to double-sided contact with automatic constraint optimization. |
| Move Contact Nodes | ICOORD field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Lets you specify whether to move the coordinates of a node in contact with a deformable body.Select None if you do not want to move the contact node.Select Obtain Stress-Free Initial Contact to modify the coordinates of a node in contact with the deformable body so that the software can obtain stress-free initial contact.Select Delay Sliding Off a Contacted Segment to extend the tangential error tolerance at sharp corners of deformable bodies to delay sliding off a contacted segment.Select Both to select both the Obtain Stress-Free Initial Contact and Delay Sliding Off a Contacted Segment options simultaneously. |
| Delayed Slide off Distance | SLIDE field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Available when Move Contact Nodes is set to Delay Sliding Off a Contacted Segment.Specifies the delayed slide off distance. With this option, a node sliding on a segment slides off the segment only if it passes the node (2D) or edge (3D) at a sharp corner over a distance that is larger than this distance value. |
| Glue | IGLUE field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Controls whether the software uses the glue algorithm.Select No Glue to not use glued contact.Select Glue to use glued contact. With this option, MSC Nastran ties all degrees of freedom of the contact nodes in the case for deformable-deformable contact when the node comes in contact.Select Special Glue to ensure that there is no relative tangential and normal displacement when a node comes into contact.Select Full Moment Carrying Glue with Projection to use full moment-carrying glue when shell elements contact. With this option, the software projects the node onto the contacted (touched) body.Select Full Moment Carrying Glue without Projection to use full moment-carrying glue when shell elements contact. With this option, the software does not project the node onto the contacted (touched) body. |
| Node Separation | JGLUE field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Available when Glue is set to any option other than No Glue.Select No Separation if a node should not separate.Select Standard Separation to use the standard separation behavior based on the maximum residual force.Select Breaking Glue to break the glued connection between contact bodies using a stress criterion. |
| Contact Searching Order | ISEARCH field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Controls how the software searches for contact for deformable contact bodies.Select ID-Based Double Search to search first from lower IDs to higher IDs and then in the reverse order.Select Slave to Master to search from the touched faces to the touching faces.Select Automatic to let MSC Nastran determine the search order. |
| Augmented Lagrange Penalty Factor | PENALT field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the Augmented Lagrange penalty factor, This option is used by the segment-to-segment contact algorithm only. |
| Augmented Lagrange Penalty Factor for Sticking | TPENALT field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Controls whether the contact status for a specific subcase starts from the final status of the previous subcase.Select Start from Previous to start the status from the final status of the previous subcase.Select Start from Initial to start the status from an initial state. |
| Maximum Sticking Skip Distance | STKSLP field in the BCONPRG bulk data entry.Specifies the maximum allowable slip distance for sticking. Beyond this specified distance, there is no sticking, only sliding. This option is used by the segment-to-segment contact algorithm only. |
