Laminate Dynamics
Simulation Navigator for Dynamic Simulation
The main panel of the Simulation Navigator includes several nodes used specifically for the Dynamic Simulation solution process. See Simulation Navigator overview for information about other areas of the Simulation Navigator.
| Solution 1 | Solution nodeThe parent solution for a dynamic simulation solution process is a Nastran SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues solution. You must set Solution Process to Laminate Dynamics on the General tab in the Solution dialog box prior to solving the modal solution. |
|---|---|
| DynamicSim1 Normal Modes [20] | Dynamic Simulation solution process nodeThe software creates a Dynamic Simulation solution process node when you use the Dynamic Simulation command. In the Laminate Dynamics dialog box, you specify the name of the dynamic simulation and the parent SOL 103 Real Eigenvalues solution. The Dynamic Simulation solution process node contains the Normal Modes [#] node, random event nodes, and sine event nodes. The number in the square brackets indicates the number of active normal modes. When you click the Normal Modes nodes, the Laminate Dynamics Details View subpanel displays the following for each normal mode: frequency, viscous damping factor, damped frequency.A dynamic simulation can contain multiple random and sine events. |
| Random1 Results Results | Random event nodesFrom the random event node, you can: Access the Random Event dialog box where you specify a base excitation function, analysis parameters, and output requests.Solve the current random event. You can have two result types: results denoted with that you can display in the Post Processing Navigator and results denoted with that you can plot from the XY Function Navigator. |
| Sine1 Results Results | Sine event nodesFrom the sine event node, you can: Access the Sine Event dialog box where you specify a base excitation function, excitation frequencies, and output requests.Solve the current sine event. You can have two result types: results denoted with that you can display in the Post Processing Navigator and results denoted with that you can plot from the XY Function Navigator. |
