Random Base Excitation dialog box

Name
Name Sets the name for the event, which appears in the Simulation Navigator under the Response Dynamics solution process node.
Description Lets you enter a description for the event.
Random Output Requests
Random output request modeling object Specifies the Random Output Requests modeling object, allowing you to define several output requests that are processed during the solution. You can select an existing modeling object from the list, or use one of the following commands to edit, create, or copy one:Edit Opens the Random Output Requests dialog box that lets you modify the selected random output request modeling object.Open Manager Opens the Random Output Requests Manager dialog box that lets you create, edit, clone, and delete Random Output Requests modeling objects.
Analysis Parameters
Confidence Level Method Specifies the method for defining the confidence level.User-DefinedLets you set the analysis confidence level in the Confidence Level (%) box. From Number of Standard DeviationsComputes the analysis confidence level from the specified number of standard deviations, assuming a Gaussian distribution. You set its value in the Number of Standard Deviations box.For more information, see Confidence level in peak results computation.
Confidence Level (%) Sets or displays the random analysis confidence level, as a percentage, that the software uses to compute peak values for the requested results.
Displacement, Velocity, Acceleration Specifies how the software computes the displacement, velocity, and acceleration results.RelativeComputes the results with respect to the base.AbsoluteComputes the results with the base acceleration included.
Residual Vector Static Contributions Appears when the SOL 103 Response Dynamics solution is set up as follows:The Random Base Excitation Event check box is selected in the Solution dialog box.Residual vectors are defined in the dynamic subcase.Instructs the random base excitation (RBE) solver to include the static contribution of the residual vectors in the RBE solve. Residual vectors help to account for an incomplete modal basis. The RBE solver uses the inertial component INRLOD to compensate for missing mass and inertia. You can inspect the residual vector frequencies in the Response Dynamics Detail View subpanel, when you select the Residual Vectors node under the response dynamics Modal Representation node in the Simulation Navigator.Because deactivating any normal modes reduces the accuracy of the solution with the residual vectors, when the Residual Vector Static Contributions check box is selected and one or more modes are deactivated, the software automatically instructs the RBE solver to exclude the residual vectors.
