Solver Basic dialog box
| Name-Description | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets a unique name for the parameter. |
| Label | Sets a unique integer for the parameter. The dialog box automatically displays the next available label number. However, you might want to change this if you use a particular series of numbers to identify certain types of parameters. |
| Description | Sets a description for the parameter. This description appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Description column to the list table. To do that, right-click the column heading row and choose Columns→Configure. In the Configure Columns dialog box, select the Description check box and then click OK. |
| Categorization | |
| Category | Sets the category name for this parameter. |
| Sub-Category | Sets the subcategory name for this parameter. The subcategory appears in the Durability Simulation Objects dialog box only if you add the Sub-Category column to the list table. |
| Properties | |
| Approach | Specifies which approach to use when performing the durability analysis.Stress LifeEstimates the fatigue life of a component affected by repeated cycles of bending stresses. For more information, see The stress-life approach.Strain LifeEstimates the fatigue damage to a component when yielding occurs at critical locations. For more information, see The strain-life approach. |
| Computation Type | Specifies the computation type to use with regard to the load history.First-Second RunCalculates two runs through the load history. The first run uses the original signal; the second one takes the residuum of the first run into account. The second run is then repeated until the limit damage sum is reached by reusing the already-calculated result and not going through the load history again.Damage JumpApplies the load history repeatedly, taking the actual material properties at the current time into account.Use this option when the material properties (namely, the stiffness) change during the damage accumulation. |
