PEAKOUT Criteria dialog box
This modeling object corresponds to the PEAKOUT bulk entry.
| Modeling Object | |
|---|---|
| Name | Sets the name for the peak output criteria that you are creating. |
| Label | Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the peak output criteria. |
| Properties | |
| Description | Sets the description for the peak output criteria that you are creating. This description appears in the Simulation Navigator. To enter a long description, click to open a text editor. |
| Criteria | |
| Response Type | Specifies the type of frequency response results to which to apply the peak output criteria. |
| Maximum Number of Peaks | Specifies the number of peak responses to select from the responses that remain after the Minimum Distance between Peaks, Maximum Distance between Peaks, Starting Frequency, and Ending Frequency criteria are applied to the frequency response results. |
| Minimum Distance between Peaks | Specifies the minimum allowable frequency difference between adjacent peak responses. |
| Maximum Distance between Peaks | Specifies the value that is used to create frequency ranges that are centered around each response that is retained after applying the Starting Frequency, Ending Frequency, Minimum Distance between Peaks, Maximum Number of Peaks, and minimum cutoffs for individual DOF criteria. The span of these frequency ranges is twice the value that you specify in the Maximum Distance between Peaks box. If a response was excluded from the peak responses search because of the requested number of peaks criterion, but the excluded response lies outside these frequency ranges, it is recovered and added to the peak responses. For a detailed explanation of how the software applies this criterion, see the remarks for the FAR field in the PEAKOUT bulk entry. |
| Starting Frequency | Specifies the frequency below which the frequency response results are excluded from the peak responses search. |
| Ending Frequency | Specifies the frequency above which the frequency response results are excluded from the peak responses search. |
| Nodes | |
| Group Reference | Selects a group from which to obtain the frequency responses for the nodes explicitly listed in the group. The software applies the filtering criteria to these frequency responses to obtain the peak responses. For more information, see Group Reference options. |
| Select Node | Selects the nodes from which to obtain the frequency responses. The software applies the filtering criteria to these frequency responses to obtain the peak resonances. |
| Minimum Cutoff Response Level | |
| DOF1 thru DOF6 | Appears when Response Type is set to Displacement, Velocity, or Acceleration.Specifies the amplitude of the response for the corresponding DOF below which the response is excluded from the peak responses search. |
| Pressure Unit | Appears when Response Type is set to Pressure.Selects whether the sound pressure level cutoff is expressed in units of pressure such as MPa, or in dB or dBA. |
| Sound Pressure Level | Appears when Pressure Unit is set to dB or dBA.Specifies the sound pressure level in dB or dBA below which the response is excluded from the peak responses search. |
| dB Reference | Appears when Pressure Unit is set to dB or dBA.Specifies the reference pressure to use in dB and dBA calculations as follows:dB = 20{\log {10}}\left( {\frac{P}{{{P{ref}}}}} \right) dBA = 20{\log {10}}\left( {\frac{P}{{{P{ref}}}}} \right) + 20{\log _{10}}\left( {{R_A}\left( f \right)} \right) + 2where P is the measured sound pressure and Pref is the reference sound pressure. The A-weighting function, RA(f), is given as follows:{R_A}\left( f \right) = \frac{{{{12194}^2} \cdot {f^4}}}{{\left( {{f^2} + {{20.6}^2}} \right)\sqrt {\left( {{f^2} + {{107.7}^2}} \right)\left( {{f^2} + {{737.9}^2}} \right)} \left( {{f^2} + {{12194}^2}} \right)}} |
| Value | Appears when Pressure Unit is set to Pressure Unit.Specifies the sound pressure level below which a response is excluded from the peak responses search. |
