Thermal Void dialog box

Use this dialog box to set options for the Thermal Void load for the Simcenter 3D Thermal/Flow, Electronic Systems Cooling, and Multiphysics solvers.

Name
Name Sets the name for the thermal void load. The name appears in the Simulation Navigator and the graphics window.
Boundary Condition ID Sets a numerical ID, which you can use as an argument in some thermal-flow functions in the CAE expression system. For more information, see Boundary condition ID in expressions.
Description Specifies a description of the thermal void load.
Destination Folder
Load Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition is stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Regions 1-5 and Regions 6-20
Region 1 to Region 5****Region 6 to Region 20 Specify up to 20 void regions for the thermal void load. Click Create Region to create a new void region. You must specify at least one void region. After you select a region, use Edit to modify it.Use More Options to search for a specific void region using sorting and filtering options.
Environment
Fluid Materials Assigns a fluid material or multiple fluid material to the thermal void.Select a material from the list of materials assigned to the model, or click Choose material to define a new material.
Heat Load
Heat Load Sets a value for the heat load that can be constant or can vary with one of the following:TemperatureThermal capacitanceTimeFor more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Capacitance
Calculation Method Specifies if and how the capacitance of the thermal void is computed. No CapacitanceDoes not compute the capacitance of the thermal void.Specify VolumeComputes the capacitance from the specified volume. The volume can be a constant value or it can vary with time or temperature. You enter the volume of the fluid in the Volume Value box.Specify CapacitanceSets the capacitance of the thermal void. The capacitance can be a constant value or it can vary with time or temperature. You enter the value in the Capacitance Value box.For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
