Correlation Detail View subpanel (model update and model update set solution processes)

The Correlation Details View subpanel in the Simulation Navigator displays additional information for the design variables, optimization targets, and target errors.

This subpanel also displays the frequency for each reference and work solution mode, as well as for mode pairs. For more information, see Correlation Details View subpanel (correlation solution process).

Design Variable details

The following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel when you select the Design Variables [#] node under the Model Update or Model Update Set node in the Simulation Navigator. The number in the square brackets indicates the number of active design variables. In a Model Update Set solution process, the design variables that are common to all constituent model update solutions are highlighted with blue color to differentiate them from non-common design variables.

Column name Description
ID Indicates the design variable identifier.Clear the check box in front of the design variable identifier to exclude a design variable from the Model Update solution process.
Name Indicates the name of the design variable.
Label Indicates the label of the design variable.
Value Indicates the current multiplier of the design variable. This multiplier indicates by how much the value of the design variable changed. To edit the value of a design variable, you must select the design variable in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click in the value box for that variable.
Lower Bound Indicates the lower bound for the value of the design variable.Select a design variable in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click on the lower bound box of that design variable to edit the lower bound value.
Upper Bound Indicates the upper bound for the value of the design variable.Select a design variable in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click on the upper bound box of that design variable to edit the upper bound value.
Weight Indicates the weight of the design variable.Select a design variable in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click on the weight box of that design variable to edit the weight value.
Physical Property Indicates the specified name of the physical property.
Type Indicates the type of the physical property or the card of the material property.
Field Indicates the parameter of the physical property or the material property that is referenced by the design variable.

The following commands appear when you right-click one or more design variables in the Correlation Details View subpanel.

Icon Command name Description
Free Allows the values of the selected design variables to change during the optimization in the Model Update solution process.
Fixed Fixes the values of the selected design variables so that they cannot change during optimization in the Model Update solution process.
Information Opens the Information window that lists general information about the selected design variables.

Targets details

The following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel when you select the Targets [#] node or the Frequencies [#] and Mode Shapes [#] nodes under the Targets [#] node, under the Model Update or Model Update Set node in the Simulation Navigator. The number in the square brackets indicates the number of active targets.

Column name Description
Id Indicates the target frequency identifier or the target mode shape identifier.Clear the check box in front of the target identifier to exclude that target from the Model Update solution process.
Ref Mode Id Indicates the reference mode identifier.
Ref Freq Indicates the natural frequency of the reference mode.
Weight Indicates the weight of the target frequency or the target mode shape.Select a target in the Correlation Details View subpanel and click on the weight box of that target to edit the weight value.

The following commands appear when you right-click one or more targets in the Correlation Details View subpanel.

Icon Command name Description
Activate Includes the selected targets in the Model Update solution process.
Deactivate Excludes the selected targets from the Model Update solution process.

Errors details

The following information is displayed in the Correlation Details View subpanel, when you select Errors [#], Frequencies [#], or Mode Shapes [#] nodes under the Errors [#] node, under the Model Update or Model Update Set node in the Simulation Navigator. Each target has a corresponding error. The number in the square brackets indicates the number of active targets. You can see the active status of the target in the Correlation Details View, but you cannot modify it.

Column name Description
Id Indicates the target frequency identifier or the target mode shape identifier. Some rows list overall errors. These rows do not have an identifier, but their names are displayed in the Id column as follows:All ErrorsFrequenciesMode ShapesClear the check box in front of a target identifier to exclude the target from the Model Update solution process.
Current Error Indicates the current error between work and reference solutions for each target frequency and target mode shape. Additionally, it also indicates the following:The current root mean square error for all individual target errors for the row in which Id is set to All Errors. The current root mean square error for all individual target frequency errors for the row in which Id is set to Frequencies. The current root mean square error for all individual target mode shape errors for the row in which Id is set to Mode Shapes.
Initial Error Indicates the initial error between work and reference solutions for each target frequency and target mode shape. Additionally, it also indicates the following:The initial root mean square error for all individual target errors for the row in which Id is set to All Errors. The initial root mean square error for all individual target frequency errors for the row in which Id is set to Frequencies. The initial root mean square error for all individual target mode shape errors for the row in which Id is set to Mode Shapes.
Ref Mode Id Indicates the reference mode identifier of the target.
Ref Freq Indicates the natural frequency of the reference mode.
Work Mode Id Indicates the work mode identifier that is paired with the target.
Current Value Appears when you select the Errors [#] node.Indicates the current work frequency value for frequency targets or the current MAC or cross-orthogonality value for the shape targets.
Initial Value Appears when you select the Errors [#] node.Indicates the initial work frequency value for frequency targets or the initial MAC or cross-orthogonality value for the shape targets.
