Recursive Domain Normal Modes dialog box

Use the options in this dialog box to specify options that control Recursive Domain Normal Modes (RDMODES) in Simcenter Nastran RDMODES is a parallel capability that uses substructuring technology to solve large scale normal modes analysis. For more information about the options in this dialog box, see the RDMODES bulk data entry in the Simcenter Nastran Quick Reference Guide.

Modeling Object
Name Defines the name of the modeling object.
Label Specifies a unique numerical identifier for the modeling object.
Properties
Description Lets you enter a description for the recursive domain normal modes.
Number of Subdomains for Partitioning (NREC) Sets the number of subdomains for partitioning.
Frequency Range Adjustment Factor (RDSCALE) Sets a factor to adjust the frequency range of the RDMODES substructures.
Substructure Decomposition Method (OLDSEQ) Specifies the method of creating the substructures.
Reduced Eigenvalues Calculation Method (RDQSOL) Specifies the method for calculating the reduced eigenvalues.
RDMODES Method Version (VERSION) Lets you specify the RDMODES version to use.Select New to use the new RDMODES approach that was introduced in the Simcenter Nastran 2020.1 release. This option is very beneficial to performance when you use shared memory processing (SMP). It is not beneficial when you use distributed memory processing (DMP).Select Old to use the old RDMODES approach.
