Temperature dialog box (Thermal/Flow/SST/ESC/Multiphysics-Thermal)

Option Description
Name Specify a meaningful name for the constraint.
Description Specify a description for the constraint.
Destination Folder
Constraint Container Specifies the folder in the Simulation Navigator in which the boundary condition will be stored. The list includes the root container and existing folders that you created using the New Folder command. Examples of a root container include Load Container, Constraint Container, and Simulation Object Container.
Folder Manager Displays a hierarchical listing of existing folders. To create a new folder, right-click any level of the hierarchy and choose New Folder.
Region to Apply Temperature to
Group Reference Lets you constrain a group. For more information, see Group Reference options.
Select Object Lets you select the geometry, elements, or mesh points to constrain.Element Selection Filtering lets you limit your element selection to the FE entity you select from the Filter Type list:Elements lets you select any element type in a single selection.Element Edges lets you select 1D elements, the edges of 2D, or 3D elements.Element Faces lets you select 2D elements or the faces of 3D elements.Caution: You must select Element from the main selection Type Filter list to use the Element Selection Filtering options.Excluded lets you remove individual entities from within your selected object.
Stacked Smart Selector Methods Opens the Smart Selector Methods dialog box where you can specify a progression of smart selection filters. For more information, see Smart Selector Methods dialog box.
Magnitude
Option Specifies how the magnitude of the temperature constraint is defined.SpecifyAllows you to define the temperature of all the selected elements or geometry.**From File (TEMPF format)**Allows you to define the temperature of each element individually by specifying a results file containing element temperature values. From Results DirectoryAllows you to define the temperature of each element individually by specifying a results directory. The solver searches the directory for a file in TEMPF format, which contains individual element temperature values.
Temperature Appears when Option is set to Specify.Sets the temperature value. For more information, see Additional magnitude options.
Multi-Layer Shells
Specify Layer to Apply to If you are applying a Temperature constraint to multi-layer shell elements, select this option to apply the constraint to a specific layer.
Apply to Lets you control the layer or layers to which the software applies the constraint.Note: The Top layer is the side of the element facing the same direction as the element normal. The Bottom layer is the opposite side, and is designated layer 1.Top, Middle, or BottomApplies the constraint to the top, middle, or bottom layers of the selected elements.AllApplies the constraint to all layers of the selected elements.SpecifyLets you specify an individual layer to which to apply the constraint.
Layer Number (Bottom=1) Lets you specify the ID number of the layer to which to apply the constraint.
