| Filtering Criterion | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Appears when the table field contains both spatial and non-spatial independent variables and Display Type is set to Symbol. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Filter Options | For table fields with an independent domain that contains both a non-spatial variable and spatial variables, multiple values of the dependent variable may exist at each spatial location. For this type of table field, the value of the dependent variable that the software displays depends on the Filter Options setting.Specifies the filtering criterion that the software uses to assign a single dependent variable value to each spatial location.Use Averaged ValuesAt each spatial location, average the values of the dependent variable.Specify Non-Spatial Variable ValueWhen you select this option, a slider and page control commands appear.Use the slider and page control commands to specify the value of the non-spatial independent variable from which to obtain the values of the dependent variable.Use First Value in TableAt each spatial location, use the dependent variable values that correspond to the first non-spatial independent variable listed in the tabular data.Use Last Value in TableAt each spatial location, use the dependent variable values that correspond to the last non-spatial independent variable listed in the tabular data.Use MinimumAt each spatial location, use the minimum value of the dependent variable.Use MaximumAt each spatial location, use the maximum value of the dependent variable.Hide Overlapping ValuesDisplay the value of the dependent variable at spatial locations where only a single tabular data point exists.For example, consider the following set of tabular data:Non-spatial independent variableSpatial independent variable, xDependent variable-10-18004208-1100-5010025210040The following table shows the value that the software displays and the location of the display for various combinations of Table Value Labels and Filter Options settings.Table Value Labels settingFilter Options settingDisplayed value for the dependent variable (location of displayed value)Maximum****Use Averaged Values20 (x = 100)Maximum****Use First Value in Table8 (x = 0)Maximum****Use Last Value in Table40 (x = 100)Maximum****Use Minimum-5 (x = 0)Maximum****Use Maximum40 (x = 100)Minimum****Use Averaged Values-2 (x = 0)Minimum****Use First Value in Table-18 (x = 0)Minimum****Use Last Value in Table8 (x = 0)Minimum****Use Minimum-18 (x = 0)Minimum****Use Maximum8 (x = 0) | Non-spatial independent variable | Spatial independent variable, x | Dependent variable | -1 | 0 | -18 | 0 | 0 | 4 | 2 | 0 | 8 | -1 | 100 | -5 | 0 | 100 | 25 | 2 | 100 | 40 | Table Value Labels setting | Filter Options setting | Displayed value for the dependent variable (location of displayed value) | Maximum | Use Averaged Values | 20 (x = 100) | Maximum | Use First Value in Table | 8 (x = 0) | Maximum | Use Last Value in Table | 40 (x = 100) | Maximum | Use Minimum | -5 (x = 0) | Maximum | Use Maximum | 40 (x = 100) | Minimum | Use Averaged Values | -2 (x = 0) | Minimum | Use First Value in Table | -18 (x = 0) | Minimum | Use Last Value in Table | 8 (x = 0) | Minimum | Use Minimum | -18 (x = 0) | Minimum | Use Maximum | 8 (x = 0) |
