Define a Peltier Cooler

Note:

Values for defining a Peltier Cooler can be obtained from the device manufacturer and should be verified for applicability.

  1. Choose Home tab→Loads and Conditions group→Peltier Cooler .

  2. In the Peltier Cooler dialog box, define the regions of the model to specify the locations of the cool plate and hot plate elements.

  3. Specify a constant or temperature dependent value for Seebeck Coefficient, Electrical Resistivity, and Thermal Conductivity.

  4. Specify a value for the Number of Couples as an integer greater than one.

  5. Specify a value for the Geometric Factor which is calculated as area/length of one p-type or n-type element of a thermocouple.

  6. Use the Electrical Boundary Condition list to specify how the array is electrically connected.Regardless of any other units in the model, voltage value is in volts and current value is in amperes.
